This bedroom’s namesake was an English nobleman and close friend of Elizabeth I from her first year on the throne until his death. He was a suitor for her hand for many years, becoming as powerful as he was controversial.

So you can be forgiven if a stay in the Robert Dudley feature bedroom on the first floor of the Victorian wing of the main house gives you delusions of grandeur.
