Mickley Hall Shooting School & Gun Room is a family-run Cheshire estate founded by England shooters John and Scott Barnett. With more than 70 years of combined experience, it is recognised for its professional instruction, varied shooting disciplines and calm, welcoming environment.

Set within covered shooting stands designed for all-weather use, the ground offers a structured yet relaxed introduction to clay pigeon shooting, air rifle and archery. Each session is led by experienced instructors, with all equipment provided and tailored guidance throughout to ensure confidence, progression and enjoyment at every level.

Alongside tuition, Mickley Hall offers a specialist gun room and a strong focus on traditional country sport, delivered with a focus on skill, consistency and enjoyment.

When combined with a stay at Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa, the experience sits naturally within a country house escape. Enjoy spending the day on the shooting ground before returning to the hotel for seasonal dining, spa access and time in the landscaped gardens, bringing together country sport and the calm of the house.

Experience Options

• Half Day Clay Shooting Experience: A half day shooting experience includes a 25 clay shooting session with instruction and equipment, finishing with informal awards

• Full Day Clay Shooting Experience: A full day experience includes equipment, a morning practice session, seasonal lunch, a second competitive clay session and an afternoon awards presentation

• Multi-Activity Experience: A multi activity experience combines clay shooting with archery and air rifle sessions with equipment, followed by lunch and informal awards
