Hotel accessibility

At Rhinefield House Hotel we treat our guests as individuals and therefore we have a range of facilities catering for people of all abilities. 

Pre arrival

  • Prior to arrival guests can speak with a member of the reservations team in order to confirm requirements and general suitability of Rhinefield House
  • Guests can contact Rhinefield House via:

  • The hotel is able to arrange collection from the main line rail and bus stations and accessible taxis are widely available

Parking

  • Accessible parking and a drop off area is available, assistance with luggage is also available
  • Car park spaces are marked

  • Route from accessible parking has no steps and is lit

Entrance and reception

  • The main hotel entrance has one step , the alternative entrance has no step or ramp
  • Entrance from accessible parking has no steps and one automatic door 
  • Entrance is lit at all times

  • Entrance to reception has 2 steps, a ramp is available
  • Reception floor is carpeted and suitable for wheelchairs

  • Bedroom furniture can be re-arranged on request
  • Bedroom with non-allergenic bedding is available on request
  • All bedrooms are ensuite
  • 1 bedroom has a wet room walk in shower with no lip
  • 15 bedrooms have a walk in shower therefore there is a small lip to step over
  • Laundry service is available
  • More lighting options are available in bedrooms on request (extra lamps available)
  • All bedrooms have remote controlled TVs
  • Subtitles are available on the TVs
  • Internet access is available in bedrooms
  • All bedrooms have a telephone
  • Tea and coffee making facilities in all bedrooms

  • All meals can be cut up for ease of eating, food may also be pureed/thickened if needed in all restaurants
  • 24h in room dining is available should you wish to eat from the comfort of your room

Leisure facilities

  • Leisure reception  -  access either via steps through the hotel or via the main entrance and then round the side of the hotel, please speak to a member of our team for more information
  • Ground floor treatment rooms are accessed via a ramp from reception
  • Massage couches can be hydraulically lowered to wheelchair height or lower. Please inform us when you book so that we can reserve an appropriate room and allow extra therapist time or arrange additional assistance
  • The splash pool is accessed via reception on the ground floor
  • A hoist is available. Please give us prior notice so that trained staff are on hand to assemble the hoist and provide assistance.
  • The spa pool is on the ground floor and accessed via the swimming pool. Please give us prior notice so that trained staff are on hand to assemble the hoist if required and provide assistance
  • Sauna - access on ground floor via swimming pool
  • Steam - access on ground floor via swimming pool
  • Relaxation rooms -  access on ground floor 
  • Accessible toilet/shower is available on the ground floor
  • Gym  - access on the ground floor – via an outside corridor 
  • Facilities which are inaccessible with a wheelchair:
    • Pool side sauna - we do not recommend this for wheelchair users as the passageway by the pool which accesses the sauna is rather narrow.
    • Poolside steam room - we do not recommend this for wheelchair users as the passageway by the pool which accesses the steam room is rather narrow.
    • Relaxation room - no lift, the only access is via stairs 

General accessibility

  • Staff are on hand to assist 24 hours a day
  • Emergency evacuation procedure for guests requiring assistance (please notify on arrival if assistance on evacuation needed)
  • Assistance dogs accepted with prior notice
  • In accordance with legislation smoking is not permitted in the hotel
  • Mobile phone signal with most providers is weak/medium in the area
  • The fire alarm system is bells, sirens and flashing lights. Assistance is given with evacuation if necessary
  • The bells and sirens will ring continuously if evacuation is needed if you require assistance for evacuation please notify us on arrival
