Hotel accessibility

At Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa we treat our guests as individuals and therefore we have a range of facilities catering for people of all abilities. 

Pre arrival

  • Prior to arrival guests can speak with a member of the reservations team in order to confirm requirements and general suitability of Grand Jersey
  • Guests can contact Grand Jersey via:

  • Good bus links serve other parts of the island including sightseeing services all departing from the nearby Liberation Station which is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel
  • The hotel is able to arrange collection from Jersey Airport and Elizabeth Ferry Terminal via taxi services at an additional cost and accessible taxis are also available

  • Car park spaces are limited on a first come first served basis
  • Route from accessible parking has steps but a ramp is available from our concierge team on request. On arrival they will automatically assist. 

Entrance and reception

  • The main hotel entrance has three steps however a lift suitable for wheelchairs is available 
  • Entrance is lit at all times
  • Entry alert/bell is available 
  • Reception floor is tiled and suitable for wheelchairs
  • Seating is available in the reception area
  • Accessible WC available at the entrance


  • 2 accessible bedrooms available at Grand Jersey 
  • Bedroom furniture can be re-arranged on request
  • Bedroom with non-allergenic bedding is available on request
  • All bedrooms are ensuite
  • 21 bedrooms have walk in showers 
  • Laundry service is available
  • More lighting options are available in bedrooms on request (extra lamps available)
  • All bedrooms have remote controlled TVs
  • Subtitles are available on the TVs
  • Internet access is available in bedrooms
  • All bedrooms have a telephone
  • Tea and coffee making facilities in all bedrooms
  • Mini-fridges are available in all bedrooms
  • Balconies are not accessible by wheelchair, one step over the patio door
  • Elephant feet are available to raise the bed on request
  • Shower seat is available on request
  • DeafGard alarm is available on request

Public areas

  • Public toilet with baby change facilities
  • Bar, lounge and some conference rooms are accessible by wheelchair, the Grand Suite has steps into the room
  • Entrance to one or more bedrooms with no steps
  • Corridors are lit at all times
  • Staircase to all floors
  • Lift via reception to all floors


  • All restaurants can cater for special dietary requirements on prior request (gluten free, lactose free, nut free, vegetarian, vegan) other dietary requirements may be catered for with prior discussion
  • 24h in room dining is available should you wish to eat from the comfort of your room

Spa and health club

  • Spa reception - access is on the ground floor
  • Ground floor treatment rooms are accessed from spa reception via a flight of stairs
  • Unfortunately our massage couches cannot be hydraulically lowered to wheelchair height or lower. 
  • The swimming pool can be accessed via main reception on the ground floor, however there are three steps at the entrance and access is only available through the gym. 
  • The spa pool is located in the swimming pool hall which has 2 steps to get in and 1 step into the spa pool
  • Sauna is accessed from the swimming pool, this has 2 steps from poolside
  • Steam room is accessed from the swimming pool, this has 2 steps from poolside
  • Experience showers  are accessed from swimming pool via a few steps
  • Gym  - access on the ground floor via main reception and three steps
  • Unfortunately all our facilities are inaccessible with a wheelchair as we do not have a lift and all facilities are accessed via steps.

General accessibility

  • Staff are on hand to assist 24 hours a day
  • Emergency evacuation procedure for guests requiring assistance (please notify on arrival if assistance on evacuation needed)
  • Assistance dogs accepted with prior notice
  • In accordance with legislation smoking is not permitted in the hotel
  • Mobile phone signal with most providers is strong in the area
  • The fire alarm system is bells and sirens and does not have flashing lights. Assistance is given with evacuation if necessary
  • The bells and sirens will ring continuously if evacuation is needed if you require assistance for evacuation please notify us on arrival
