Historic Kent country house hotel, Chilston Park in Lenham, has launched a series of exclusive mindfulness and wellbeing retreats that invite guests to adandon technology, embrace creativity, escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and be present in the moment.

The two-day/two-night retreats have been developed in conjunction with local meditation and yoga experts, Liberty Wellbeing, and combine indoor and outdoor yoga, tai chi and meditation practices with craft activities and inspirational talks from leading mindfulness experts to encourage guests to unwind and reconnect with themselves and their environment.

Overnight accommodation in one of the hotel's classic bedrooms is provided along with a carefully planned menu of healthy and well-balanced meals, snacks and drinks designed by the team of award-winning expert chefs at Chilston Park Hotel.

The first of 12 retreats with varying themes including 'Reconnect & Restore', 'Rebalance', and 'New Year, New You', takes place 29th to 31st October 2017 and is dedicated to the Danish lifestyle trend of Hygge, which encompasses the feeling of wellbeing and cosy contentment through enjoying the simple things in life.

The inaugural October Hygge Retreat begins at dusk with a smoothie on arrival followed by a nutritional three-course meal, an after-dinner mindfulness session and plenty of reading time scheduled in before inviting guests to turn in for an early night. The activity programme begins early on day two with meditation followed by Vinyasa Flow Yoga, a silent walk in the grounds, Tai Chi and traditional board games. A lunchtime motivational session preludes a mindfulness-inspired movie as well as arts and crafts classes for knitting or needlework which have been scheduled in to add another dimension to the programme and invite guests to indulge their creative side.

Chilston Park Hotel's General Manager, Catherine Bone, commented, "Emotional wellbeing has become increasingly important at a time when technological connectivity is almost constant and switching off can be challenging. Our historic country house hotel is both comfortable and cosy with acres of impressive grounds for guests to wander and stroll, providing them with the perfect setting in which to relax and unwind and properly tune in to the moment."

Catherine continues, "with our partners at Liberty Wellbeing, we have curated a carefully designed programme of activities and thought-provoking insights that will allow guests to reconnect and realign with themselves and with what's around them, and I'm really looking forward to our first one."

The new wellbeing and mindfulness retreats are priced at £375 per person based on two people sharing a twin or a double room and includes accommodation for two nights along with all activities and meals, snacks and drinks as part of the programme schedule.
