Winter weddings in Surrey

Winter (December, January and February) sets the scene for a truly romantic wedding at Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa and if you are lucky enough to get a dusting of snow, your wedding photos really will look like a fairytale winter wonderland.

The lighting can be spectacular for your wedding photography by using flickering candles, twinkling fairy lights, or the traditional roaring fire in our Grand Hall. With a chill and a frost in the air, your wedding party can accessorise with fluffy boleros or a velvet cloak. For a more vibrant atmosphere, hold your wedding New Year’s Eve - a perfect excuse for a black tie affair and a party that lasts into the early hours.

With flowers in more limited supply during winter, you can embrace a more dramatic look and feel to your décor with bouquets and arrangements of ivy, berries, holly, and frosted flowers. Of course, Christmas colours can set the theme for your wedding and our Gibson Room – rich with oak panelling, deep purples and glimmering gold chandeliers - makes for a luxurious setting for a festive banquet.

A winter wedding allows for an abundance of comfort food. Your guests will not be unsatisfied with offerings of mulled wine and mince pies to nibble on before a festive-themed feast, with traditional Christmas pudding or warm apple and rhubarb tart to follow. It’s the most wonderful time of the year – for a wedding!
