We meet Louise and Chris who were married at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel on a glorious September day at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel

The moment we walked into Stanbrook Abbey Hotel near Worcester, we were overwhelmed with how beautiful the cloisters and the Callow Great Hall were. It was the perfect compromise for my husband and I, he wanted a venue which could accommodate the entire event and I liked the idea of a church. The Callow Great Hall (the original chapel of the abbey) provided a traditional 'churchy' feel with the practicality of a hotel venue.

The whole wedding day was perfect for us. We both had an amazing experience before the ceremony, I was in the Brides Manor with my bridesmaids, it is a grand manor house with five beautiful ensuite bedrooms, a parlour so we could have our hair and makeup done, Papa's room for my dad to escape to and an elegant drawing room for us all to relax in. There is also a secret cloister that leads direct to the Callow Great Hall, which is perfect if the weather isn't great, you don't have to go outside and ruin your hair, makeup and dresses!

My husband got ready in the Cardinal Suite with the best men, this is one of the largest suites in the hotel with a huge balcony and I know they had a great time in the run up to the service there.

The ceremony was wonderful as was the wedding breakfast in St Anne's Hall. The food was fabulous too, for our wedding breakfast we had sea trout, followed by pork belly and then a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, it was all delicious. The hotel also has great spaces for the evening party, we had a hog roast, a chocolate fountain and sweet cart which all went down brilliantly with our guests.

As the hotel is so beautiful we didn't feel we needed a theme for our wedding, I wanted to make sure it was neutral, simple and traditional; a splash of colour was added by the bridesmaid dresses which were in various shades of blue.

Caroline at Caroline Clark Bridal Boutique (Droitwich) was fantastic when ordering our bridesmaid dresses, she was very welcoming and extremely helpful.

Emms Alterations (Droitwich) were brilliant at all aspects of the alterations for our bridesmaid dresses. They successfully organised fittings and completed alterations for 5 girls and their dresses.

Rob & Sarah Gillespie our photographers were absolutely exceptional, two of the most lovely people, it was like having two extra friends at the wedding with the added bonus of having the most perfect photographs afterwards.

The service on our wedding day was great, everyone went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. Elizabeth and Clyde were exceptionally helpful, I have very fond memories of them both. The memory of having all of our friends and family all together in one, beautiful setting is something we will both treasure always and we can't thank the Stanbrook team enough for everything they did for us to make our wedding day so special.
