Situated within miles of golden beaches, St Pierre Park Hotel, set in 35 acres of landscaped gardens, is an unforgettable setting for a wedding reception.

With just three months of actual planning time, Aoiffe and Phil needed a dedicated and experienced team to take care of all the arrangements to ensure things ran smoothly on their big day. And it was St Pierre Park’s reputation for a wedding reception venue that helped to seal the deal for the pair.

“The team did everything they could to help us plan our day and their communication was incredible. We spent a month travelling leading up to the wedding and they would always be prepared to Skype us at ungodly times and keep us in the loop. They could not have done more in guiding us through our reception,” revealed Aoiffe.

“We also knew we wanted a big wedding reception, with all of our family members from close and afar, so the many rooms, wonderful grounds and the amazing bridal suite made St Pierre Park the perfect venue for us. It was less than a ten minute journey from where we were getting married in my local church, too.”

Being a summer wedding, the couple were keen to tie in a colour theme opting for blue and yellow to keep everything bright and warm. Aoiffe made all of the favours, bouquets and decorations herself and fortunately she had a helping hand from her friends to set everything up the morning of the wedding. Doing your own wedding décor can save you a lot of money but can also be time-consuming so any support from your wedding party will be welcomed.

In comparison, a fair chunk of the wedding budget went on a professional wedding photographer. “Caleb from Evoke was a gem! He could not have done more to make us feel at ease and enjoy our day. We went for an engagement shoot before the big day so we weren't camera shy on our wedding and it really helped. To top it off he took some stunning photos that we will cherish forever.”

Another highly recommended supplier from Aoiffe includes Stephen Hill, a local illustrator, who created beautiful bespoke order of service cards with a sketch of St Joseph and St Mary Church, as well as hand scribing all of their place settings.

One of the best parts of the day for the Guernsey residents was sitting in their private hot tub at the end of the night. “As we looked out over the incredible view of the grounds, just the two of us, we laughed and chatted about what an unforgettable day we had – from start to finish.

“The whole day from start to finish was perfect. We even got to spend some quality time with our friends the morning of the wedding. The boys all went paddle boarding while we girls went for a leisurely sea swim before heading to the hotel to get ready. It really helped to set us up for our big day. There aren’t many other wedding venues you could do that, all within five minutes away. It is a truly unique place to let time pass you by and with the sun shining we can't think of a better place to be.”

We could not agree more.
