With so much to see and do for kids in Worcester, and Stanbrook Abbey Hotel just five miles outside the historic city, it is a great family holiday destination for half term.

Surrounded by 26 acres of private estate in the heart of the West Midlands, it’s hard to believe that Stanbrook Abbey Hotel is just five miles from the hustle and bustle of Worcester. The beautiful cathedral city has a fascinating history of industry and lots of interesting architecture, high street names and independent boutiques together with an exciting programme of events, but there are also a lot of things to do with the kids.

So with the October half term just a few weeks away, it’s the perfect destination for all of the family. Better still, whether you are looking for a short break or to spend the entire week with us, you can take advantage of our fabulous school holiday offers. Those under 12 stay free (12- to 18-year-olds pay only £25 when sharing with their parents’ room), we have a special kids menu (with complimentary dining for under threes) and all other meals will be charged at 50% of adult rate for children four years and up to 11.

You are never too old to have fun, and there is plenty of that on tap for teenagers including Ice Quest, which offers ice skating, indoor karting and laser combat, a climbing centre and escape rooms

For those looking to plan a day out in and around Worcester with younger kids (although we are sure some will interest adults, too) there is the high rope adventure at Go Ape in Wyre, All Things Wild in Evesham, which provides a fun, interactive and educational environment for children to get back to nature, or for those crafty types, Green Frog Pottery in Malvern.

We can also recommend West Midlands Safari Park and Severn Valley Railway for something a bit different, and if your child is a bit of a history buff, then Avoncroft Museum Bromsgrove is sure to delight with its collection of rescued historic buildings spanning seven centuries.

If you love the great outdoors and getting back to nature, make the most of any crisp, beautiful autumn days by walking, cycling or horse riding in the surrounding countryside. With the Malvern Hills, Wyre Forest and the Cotswolds all on the doorstep of Stanbrook Abbey, you’re spoilt for choice.

If you are still searching for a half-term family holiday in the UK, with plenty of things to do with the kids but with a welcoming country house experience to let your hair down, it’s not too late.
