Bailbrook’s Crate Escape
A brand new challenge has been launched at Bailbrook Hotel entitled the Bailbrook Crate Escape.
In conjunction with ACF Teambuilding and Events this exercise is based on the popular Escape Room and Locked in a Room style games popular around the world. The Bailbrook Crate however starts with a member of the team chained to the crate, the stopwatch is set and it’s up to everyone to work as a team to find the key that releases them.
From the very start it is obvious that this no ordinary crate. Bath is steeped in history with many famous buildings, people and obscure stories so opening the secrets of crate will mean guests will need to learn a few things along the way. As people think in different ways the clues come in various guises such as problem solving, creative thinking, observational skills, cracking codes and thinking out the box…literally.
Rules/Guidelines
- Recommended Numbers: 2 to 8 persons
- Allow for up 45 minutes to complete the challenge
- No photographs or use of mobile phones are allowed during the exercise
- You will be officially timed when the handcuffs go on until the key unlocks them
- For larger groups additional crates and exercises can be added to the day

Camera Action:
In this fun team building event teams must produce their own advert, movie trailer or music video. This a brilliant day for those who like to be behind the camera as well as those who like to be in the spot light. Armed with professional equipment, teams will be tasked with creating storyboards, writing scripts and planning the whole production. A great way to end the day is to have an awards ceremony just like Oscars!
Connections:
In this collaborative construction challenge the group will be tasked to build a railway around an island. Each team will be given their own section of railway to work on but they will all have the same standards to meet. The group will allocate various roles to team members from Engineers, Marketing and Accounts. Starting with minimal resources, teams must campaign to the lenders for sponsorship in order to win more funds. With tight budgets the buyers need to negotiate and marketers need to be creative and persuasive. Although participants will be divided into teams, the aim of this challenge is to get groups looking at the bigger picture and to avoid silo thinking.
Chocolate Making:
Welcome to the world of making chocolate! Your event can be moulded to suit your requirements whether your emphasis is on sales, presentation skills, or creativity.
From a 1 hour chocolate decorating workshop, to a full team building day such as the Chocolate Apprentice, we can tailor your chocolate making event to suit.
Archery:
Learn the skills of an archer in this medieval sport. Archery combines tradition and fun with the great outdoors. Under the watchful eye of our professional instructors, your team will consistently be sending arrows straight and hitting gold….with a little practice! Archery works well as an activity all on its own as a break from a meeting or as one of a number of activities in a multi-activity event.
Duck Herding:
A hilariously entertaining activity which combines teamwork, good communication and listening skills…and lots of patience! Using our well behaved dog, learn the commands to control him and guide the ducks though gates, over bridges, across cross roads, before heading back to base. This is a great activity to both watch and participate in and will inevitably lead to lots of laughter.
Maze Runner:
In this team building challenge delegates will guide their team mates through the maze while they are blindfolded. A great activity to promote trust, team work and communication within a group. Dodge the rats and don’t nudge the ropes otherwise you’ll be penalised! Every member of the team must make it through. Leave no one behind!
Shipwrecked:
Gather your crew! Your ship has been hit and is sinking fast! During the event some members of your crew have been injured. Your mission is to escape the sinking ship without falling into the icy waters below. The team must make choices and use the resources they can find, however good communication is the only way they will succeed in this time restricted challenge.
