William Pitt (the Elder) may have been known as The Great Commoner but even he would have enjoyed being indulged in this Deluxe bedroom.
The bedroom is located on a side of the Mansion House that affords peaceful views of the woods, and this sense of tranquility is enhanced by the light beige and green colour scheme.
The bedroom’s namesake, William Pitt (the Elder), earned his nickname for his refusal to accept a title. Following a distinguished military career during which he notably made a fortune selling a huge diamond to the Duke of Orléans, Pitt rose through the political ranks to become the Southern Secretary and virtual head of government and was Bath’s MP from 1757-1766. He lived at 7 The Circus, Bath, where a plaque commemorating his residence may be seen today.
Deluxe bedrooms are allocated on an availability basis and are not individually bookable. If a specific bedroom is desired please submit a special request when booking online or speak to a member of our team.
