Hand Picked Hotels’ Jubilee Charity Fun Days raise £20k for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Family-owned country house hotel group, Hand Picked Hotels, has donated £20,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, following fundraising activity held in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

A selection of hotels in the group’s portfolio opened up their estate grounds over the extended Bank Holiday weekend to stage a glorious garden party with all the traditional elements of a true British celebration.  Groups of families and friends grazed on picnics and afternoon teas whilst enjoying music and entertainment from local community artists in a day of fun for all ages.

Guests at each event were charged a nominal entry fee to go towards helping those affected by the war in Ukraine. With the proceeds from the ticket sales, plus additional support from the group, a total of £20,000 was donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, an independent charity providing vital support.

The Jubilee charity fun day at Woodlands Park Hotel in Cobham, Surrey, was a sell-out event.  Dominic Raab, the hotel's local MP and Deputy Prime Minister, visited Woodlands Park on Friday 24th June to meet with hotel General Manager Richard Storey and Regional General Manager Andrew Oxby, in recognition of its community and fundraising efforts.
