Bailbrook House Hotel in Bath, part of the privately-owned country house hotel group Hand Picked Hotels, has teamed up with ACF Teambuilding & Events to develop a bespoke team building activity, The Crate Escape, when time is of the essence in more ways than one!
Developed to encourage problem solving and inspire creative thinking as part of a team, the activity involves one member of the group being chained to a specially-designed ‘Bailbrook crate’ with the remainder of the team responsible for their timely release. Working together as a group, the team must quickly unravel clues, crack codes and answer questions tailored to the history of Bailbrook House Hotel and the World Heritage Spa City of Bath in order to find the key to open the crate and set their colleague free.
Held inside one of the hotel’s 12 meeting rooms or outside in the grounds, the Crate Escape is designed to give delegates a historic whistle-stop tour of the city and the hotel without leaving the venue, expanding their knowledge of the destination and allowing them a welcome break from their meeting when offsite time is limited.

It’s a great way of engaging the group in the local area and giving them an activity that stretches their skills beyond those used around the boardroom table without it eating into too much of their time, so we’re delighted to introduce this as a new product here in Bath.”
Located just off the M4, Bailbrook House is one of only two Grade II Listed country house hotels in Bath and has 12 meeting rooms across the estate, including its premier function room, the Brunel Suite, which can accommodate up to 200 delegates.
Alongside the historic mansion house is a separate dedicated conference centre, Bailbrook Court, providing event organisers with a modern self-contained space with meeting rooms, breakout areas, access to outside terraces and bedrooms under one roof, ideal for exclusive use conferences and training events.
Delegates looking to embrace the fresh air can also make use of the venue’s new multi-use sports court for outdoor teambuilding events and sports activities including football, netball, basketball and tennis in its secluded setting.
For residential conferences, Bailbrook House has 94 bedrooms in total including 15 feature rooms and suites - each with their own period charm – as well as modern executive and deluxe rooms.

Meetings at Bailbrook House Hotel include room hire, colour printer, USB charging points, power sockets, wireless mouse presenter with laser pointer, LCD projector and screen, flip chart and stationery and free Wi-Fi. Tea and coffee is served on arrival and during the day alongside local snacks, and there are a range of flexible menus with healthy, hearty and wholesome dishes to choose from served inside or out. Event organisers have priority reserved parking and delegates can park for free.
