Discover Linlithgow Palace
The majestic royal palace of the Stewarts at Linlithgow today lies roofless and ruined. Yet the visitor still feels a sense of awe on entering through its gates.
Visit the magnificent ruin set in its own park and beside Linlithgow Loch; this was a favoured residence of the Stewart kings and queens from James I (1406-37) onward and James V (1512) and Mary Queen of Scots (1542) were both born here. The great hall and chapel are particularly fine.
Local attractions and things to do in the area may not be open all year round and may require pre-booking. Please check the attraction website before visiting to avoid disappointment.
