Historic Crathorne Hall Hotel in Yarm, North Yorkshire, will be re-opening for business on Monday 10 November following the fire that damaged part of the hotel last month.
After a month of intensive work to get the hotel operational again, Julia Hands, Chairman and Chief Executive of Hand Picked Hotels, owners of Crathorne Hall Hotel, and Ken Arkley, Commercial Director of Hand Picked Hotels, will be joining Peter Llewellyn, General Manager of the hotel, in welcoming the guests.
The architecturally splendid main house will be open, with 20 stylish bedrooms available for guests. The fine dining Leven restaurant is now taking bookings for lunch and dinner. Enjoy drinks or afternoon tea in the Nancy Tennant bar or the Drawing Room, which is also available for weddings, conferences and dinners for up to 100 people. Other function rooms include the Edwardian Room, with room for 90 people theatre style, and the Presidents’ Lounge, suitable for boardroom or dining events for up to 28 delegates. Bookings are now being taken for weddings, special occasions, business conferences and leisure stays.
Julia Hands, a former lawyer turned hotelier who runs the award-winning Hand Picked Hotels collection, with 21 hotels across the UK and the Channel Islands, said: “Everyone at Crathorne Hall has worked so hard to get the hotel open again following the fire. We are immensely thankful to the fire services from North Yorkshire, Durham and Darlington and Cleveland for containing the fire to the East Wing and minimising the damage to Crathorne. We are continuing to work on the East Wing, which is away from the main part of the hotel and look forward to opening it to guests next year.
“Crathorne Hall is part of the history of this part of North Yorkshire and is held in great affection by so many people. We are delighted to see the hotel open and providing a very special place for people to meet, stay and celebrate.”
Peter Llewellyn, General Manager, Crathorne Hall, paid tribute to the support of the local community. He said: “We have had tremendous support from local people and all the team here were very moved by the sympathy and warmth from the community. We look forward to welcoming them all to the hotel once more.”
As a special welcome to local guests, the hotel is offering afternoon tea for two with a glass of mulled wine each for £30 from Monday to Thursday during November.
The fire was believed to have started in the roof space at the hotel although the final cause has yet to be established. All guests and staff were evacuated safely. Around 100 fire fighters took more than eight hours to bring the blaze under control.
