The New Year is here and it’s the best time to detox after all the festivities so I have found the perfect recipe which works an absolute dream! So much goodness is packed into this smoothie that you can never get bored of it. We all need to kick start the New Year with style and I have found that having one of these smoothies each morning helps me get through the winter months, plus I also seem to enjoy the hearty dinners more which is always a bonus! I team up this smoothie with good classic winter warmers in the evenings, like venison casserole with 70% dark chocolate, Thai, Indian and Nepalese curries, good cheesy fish pies and of course lots of green vegetables.
Superfoods Detox Smoothie - Prep Time 10 minutes
A healthy smoothie recipe with multiple benefits for your body. Rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and cleansing properties, it’s a great breakfast or snack and not just for winter!
- 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice, or equal quantity peeled and pitted oranges
- 1 unpeeled, pitted apple
- 1 ripe banana
- 3 tablespoon goji berries
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- A pinch of pepper
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons tahini (you can up this to 4 tablespoons or even replace with almond butter)
- 3 Brazil nuts
- 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
- 3 teaspoons chia seeds
Blend all the ingredients together in a juicer and enjoy the goodness.
