Terms & Conditions

Please take a moment to review our Privilege Reward terms and conditions.

MEMBERSHIP TIERS

  1. Membership is free and upon joining new members become Introductory Privilege Reward tier members or Privilege Business Reward members depending on the programme joined. 
  2. Upon earning 450 Club points within a 12 month period members will automatically be upgraded to Gold membership “the Gold Upgrade Date”.
  3. Gold Club membership is retained for anyone earning 450 points within the 12 month period preceding the anniversary of the Gold Upgrade Date.
  4. There are no tiers applicable to the Privilege Business Rewards programme.
  5. Members receive advance notice on seasonal promotions, gain access to the Privilege Rewards reservations service and have the ability to earn points when staying at Hand Picked Hotels and redeem points for reward vouchers as published on the Hand Picked Website.
  6. Gold members receive additional benefits including a welcome drink up to the value of £8.00 on arrival at a Hand Picked Hotel for both them and their guest, a free upgrade to the next room type  subject to availability at time of arrival, late check out until noon subject to availability, 10% discount on health & beauty treatments during a stay and points earned at a preferential rate.
  7. An upgrade to the next room type is not available for promotions where a complimentary or discounted upgrade has been included in the offer.
  8. Please quote your membership number each time you make a reservation with our Central Reservations Office.  If you are booking on our website you must be logged into your account when making a booking to earn points for that stay. 
  9. The earning of any Privilege Reward Points may be excluded for certain corporate rates. Please check with the Hotel's Regional Account Manager or General Manager for more information.

EARNING POINTS

  1. Points are awarded on total spend on hotel services (accommodation, food & beverage, and spa treatments charged to the room) at the following rates: Privilege Rewards standard membership 1 point per £8, Privilege Rewards gold membership 1 point per £6 and Privilege Business Rewards membership 1 point per £15. Points will be allocated three days after your checkout date. 
  2. The maximum number of points awarded for any one booking or event (the total spend) shall not exceed 450 points. Business events and special occasion celebrations qualify however weddings and wedding related spend do not. No points will be awarded to Privilege Reward Members staying on a wedding rate. Back to back stays, even if checked out, are counted as one stay.
  3. Wedding couples who marry at a Hand Picked Hotel will not be eligible to earn points for the wedding or wedding related spend.
  4. Points may be awarded in conjunction with other special offer promotions at the group or individual hotel’s discretion. 
  5. Reward points will only be backdated for a maximum of 6 months. To claim reward points retrospectively members should email details of the stays in question including confirmation number, stay dates, membership number, hotel and customer name to privilege@handpicked.co.uk.
  6. Privilege Reward Points will only be valid for a period of two calendar years after points were earned.
  7. Privilege Reward Points benefits are not valid at our Partner Hotels.
  8. Points will only be awarded for bookings made directly with Hand Picked Hotels unless there has been prior agreement in writing from Hand Picked Hotels in advance of the booking. Points will not be awarded for bookings made via online travel agents or travel industry tour operators or by using vouchers purchased from a third party.  
  9. Points will not be awarded for any extra spend such as food and beverage or spa treatments purchased during a stay which has been booked through an online travel agent or travel industry tour operator or by using vouchers purchased from a third party.
  10. Privilege Rewards Members are only eligible to earn points for a maximum of two rooms - one occupied by the member and one other room.  Both rooms must be booked in the members's name and paid for by the member.
  11. Points cannot be awarded to an individual Standard or Gold member where a Privilege Business Rewards Member has claimed for the same event.
  12. In order to receive Gold Member benefits and earn reward points Gold members' stays need to be booked direct with Hand Picked Hotels and not via a third party.
  13. The invoice must be paid for on departure by the guest who has stayed.

REDEEMING POINTS

  1. Privilege Reward Points cannot be redeemed for stays at L’Horizon Hotel & Spa and The Grand Jersey from 1 May to 30 September. Privilege Reward Points stays, once booked, are non refundable, non transferable, and may not be cancelled or changed.
  2. The redemption of all awards is subject to allocation and availability and must be preceded by a prior confirmed points redemption booking for the hotel. The hotel reserves the right to charge the full appropriate rate should a member attempt to redeem an award without such a prior confirmed booking. To book a redemption reward customers should contact Membership Services on 0845 458 0903.
  3. The free room night is based on a maximum of two adults sharing a room.
  4. A third person supplement will be applied to any additional guest.
  5. A maximum of 1000 points may be redeemed in any one month.
  6. Members have the facility to nominate a third party when requesting award vouchers.  Once issued, a voucher can only be redeemed by the named bearer and is not transferable.
  7. Privilege Reward vouchers, once issued, are non-refundable, non-transferable and may not be cancelled or changed.
  8. Privilege Reward offers will specifically state points required for redemption and dates applicable.
  9. Any tax implications are the responsibility of the individual member and not Privilege Rewards.
  10. Stays using points are bookable up to 90 days ahead. Valid Sunday - Friday excluding bank holidays subject to availability. Based on two people sharing a Classic or next level bedroom*. 
    *Upgraded bedroom refers to the next level room above Classic

PRIVILEGE BUSINESS REWARDS

  1. Privilege Business Rewards membership is not open to any person booking on behalf of a company where they are not an employee or agent of that company.
  2. Privilege Business Rewards members may earn points on bookings where a commission is also due.
  3. When claiming as a Privilege Business Rewards member, points cannot be awarded to an individual Standard or Gold member for the same event.
  4. Privilege Business Reward points must be claimed using website claim form on a monthly basis or emailing details of these stays including confirmation numbers, hotel name, customer name and stay dates to privilege@handpicked.co.uk
  5. Points awarded to Privilege Business Reward Points are deemed to be the property of the participating company. Any tax implications are the responsibility of the individual member and not Privilege Rewards.
  6. Privilege Business Reward members may earn 1 point for every £15 spent with no single transaction limit on event bookings. Event bookings are defined as meetings with related accommodation.
  7. Points will not be awarded for bookings made via online travel agents or travel industry tour operators.
  8. Points will only be awarded for bookings made directly with Hand Picked Hotels unless there has been prior agreement in writing from Hand Picked Hotels in advance of the booking.
  9. Privilege Business Reward points redemption may include retail vouchers at a pre-determined point scale as per the published retail voucher grid.
  10. Membership, both Business and individual, may be excluded for certain corporate rates. Please check with the Hotel's Regional Account Manager or General Manager for more information. 
  11. Stays using points are bookable up to 90 days ahead. Valid Sunday - Friday excluding bank holidays subject to availability. Based on two people sharing a Classic or next level bedroom*. 
    *Upgraded bedroom refers to the next level room above Classic

GENERAL TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP

  1. Any member may resign from membership at any time by letter addressed to: Privilege Business Rewards, FREEPOST NEA 11522, Yarm, TS15 0BR or via email to  privilege@handpicked.co.uk
  2. The renewal, cancellation or amendment of membership shall be at the discretion of Privilege Rewards.
  3. Any dispute regarding these terms and conditions shall be determined by the law of England and the parties agree that any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
  4. Hand Picked Hotels reserve the right to change the basis on which Privilege Reward points are awarded at any time without prior notice.
  5. Hand Picked Hotels reserve the right to amend the benefits of membership at any time.
  6. Hand Picked Hotels reserves the right to change the list of properties participating in the scheme without notice.
  7. Hand Picked Hotels reserves the right to remove points or amend account balances where points have been duplicated or added in error. 
  8. These terms and conditions will be valid as of 1st May 2018
