Chris has been at Brandshatch Place since 2018 as Sous Chef before taking the reins to oversee all food and beverage served in our restaurant, bar and lounge and in our health club and spa.
Chris is an experienced talent, who knew he wanted to be a chef from an early age where he drew inspiration from watching and joining in with his mother when she baked. With over 15 years’ experience, creativity is everything for Chris who thrives in the careful development of his dishes and enjoys nothing more than putting his personality firmly on the menu. At Brandshatch Place, Chris has had the opportunity to build his own team, who, together, create a range of classic and contemporary British dishes with a modern twist, taking inspiration from the seasonal larder.
Other than singing the praises of butter for its versatility and ability to transform dishes to another level, Chris’ favourite ingredients are mushrooms – all types – so you may regularly find these on the menu in various textures, having sourced them from the local Kentdown Farm. Provenance is critical for Chris and the team at Brandshatch Place as authentic dining experiences remain a core focus for Hand Picked Hotels.
