The Shakespeare Hospice -
the 2014 nominated charity for Ettington Park Hotel
The Shakespeare Hospice is this year’s chosen charity for Ettington Park Hotel. Based in Shottery, Stratford on Avon, the Hospice provides hands on care and support to local families coping with a serious illness. The majority of patients are living with cancer, but care is also available for Moto Neurone Disease, end-stage heart failure and HIV AIDS. There is no charge for their services.
The hotel has been supporting the Hospice with collection boxes, but this year wanted to be more focussed in their work for this local charity.
Maintenance Manager, Colin Richman, persuaded his colleagues that they would be able to take on the gruelling challenge of the Welsh Black Mountain. “I am a keen walker and love the buzz of taking on a challenge and all the beauty you see as part of it. I wasn’t popular on the day, particularly with some of the sales team, but now everyone has fully recovered we’re thrilled to announce an impressive £665 has been raised through all our sponsors with Gift Aid to be added.”
Amy Rollason, Corporate Fundraiser at The Shakespeare Hospice said: "We are thrilled with the support Ettington Park Hotel is giving. With less than 5% government funding we rely almost entirely on our community to fund the life line we offer throughout South Warwickshire. This support will help the Hospice make a real difference to the care we provide to local families coping with a serious illness.”
