If you are visiting Hampshire for a short break, Rhinefield House Hotel is perfectly located to sample the county’s perfect blend of coast and countryside.

Nestled in the southern western corner of Hampshire surrounded by the open heath, woodlands and river valleys of the New Forest and less than an hour’s drive from the county’s coast, Rhinefield House is the perfect base for enjoying a short break in this stunning part of England.

For walks and bike rides, the New Forest is hard to beat. Once a royal hunting ground for William the Conqueror, the 566 square kilometre National Park is now a playground for people of all ages and interests with companies offering plenty of outdoor activities on the land (archery, ropes course, bushcraft, horse riding, golf) or on the water (kayaking, canoeing and raft building).

Alternatively, Paultons Family Theme Park (which is also home to Peppa Pig World) is a great family day out with over 60 rides and attractions including a collection of exotic birds and animals. The children will probably love discovering rare breeds at the New Forest Wildlife Park and Otter Sanctuary too, or joining in the daily schedule of fun goings on at Longdown Activity Farm.

For those who are able to enjoy some me time, there is an intimate health suite at Rhinefield House, and for the boys, one of the country’s most peaceful and secluded spots to fly fish, with Rockbourne Trout Fishery less than 20 miles away.

As a couple perhaps you might like to take a stroll around one of the many quaint traditional villages such as Beaulieu (if you are a petrolhead the National Motor Museum is a must), Brockenhurst, Burley or Lyndhurst, or the 200 acre site of Exbury Gardens, which are hugely enjoyable and equally stunning whatever the season.

If you prefer coast to country, why not head for the cliff tops at Barton-on-Sea, take a ferry from Hurst Castle at Milford-on-Sea to Keyhaven harbour or visit the charming market town of Lymington. From here, you can take a 40-minute crossing to the Isle of Wight – which offers a charming little slice of England.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing or invigorating break, a day trip or a long weekend - Hampshire has it all, and Rhinefield House Hotel is ideally located to make your visit extra special. Book your stay here.
