About Bruno Paillard
This is an unique story of a man in love with Champagne.
Founded in 1981, Bruno started with nothing but his will – no vineyards, no money, so he sold his old Jaguar, a collector’s item, to provide his company with a starting capital of 50,000 francs (€15,000).
He created Champagne Bruno Paillard a young, dynamic house that has quickly established a reputation for elegant wines with real style. Fresh, dry and vibrant, they are made with an uncompromising attitude to quality that shines through in the glass.
For his services to Champagne Bruno was made a Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur in 2006.
What makes Bruno Paillard so good?
The house follows a strict quality charter that includes only using the first pressings, vinifying each cru separately. A unique patented bottle design with funky 18th Century styling and the first producer to inform the consumer of the disgorgement date which is printed on the back label of every single bottle. Ageing of the Champagne is always 2 to 3 times longer than Appellation rules dictate.
The Bruno Paillard Range
Bruno Paillard Premiere Cuvee
“More elegant than Bollinger, Krug and Dom Perignon.”
Guardian newspaper.
“The quality is of his flagship Premiere Cuvee is indisputable.”
Decanter Magazine.
Tasting Note
A wonderful, elegant Champagne with delicate freshly baked bread and citrus aromas. The palate is crisp, fresh and complex with grapefruit, lime and subtle berry fruit alongside the richer brioche notes.
Bruno Paillard Rose Premiere Cuvee
“Scents of perfumed berry fruits, while the palate delivers appetisingly rich but savoury, full-bodied fruitiness.”
Anthony Rose, Independent.
Tasting Note
A delicate, elegant copper-pink Champagne with subtle Pinot Noir redcurrant and cherry fruit balanced by some creamy, citrussy Chardonnay - all of which is carried by a soft, refined mousse.
Bruno Paillard Millesime Blanc de Blanc
“Here's an excellent blanc de blancs from the youngest house in Champagne. This is sprightly young fizz … from some of the top villages in the Cote des Blancs, with hints of citrus fruit and peaches, a yeasty and toasty note, and a light floral edge as well. The finish is long, crisp and fine, yet also remarkably rich.”
Simon Woods, Wine International.
Tasting Note
Released in limited quantities, it has a deep green gold colour with very fine bubbles and offers a combination of citrus and white peach aromas. The palate is crisp and fresh with nutty Chardonnay fruit, zesty lemon and just a hint of cream.
