We are looking for 10 apprentices to take part in our Chefs Academy
We grow our own talent through our Hand Picked Chefs Academy. This is the fourth year of our Academy which will host junior chefs looking to gain a qualification of NVQ Level 2 while working and gaining experience within a real life working kitchen.
Am I eligible?
Your eligibility for a place will be assessed against the following:
- You are a European citizen
- You have completed no other qualifications since leaving school

What is the apprenticeship made up of?
- A 40 hour week with the hotel kitchen
- An assessor from Babcock Training will work with you and your Head Chef
- Achievement of an NVQ Level 2
- Four workshops per year
When does it start?
The Apprenticeship will start once your application has been successful

What will happen when I finish?
Once you have achieved your NVQ Level 2, you will graduate from the Hand Picked Hotels Chefs Academy. Your pay will be upgraded to reflect the completion of the Apprenticeship. If you complete a further year within a Hand Picked Hotel kitchen (please note this may not be in the same Hand Picked Hotel as you completed your Apprenticeship) we will progress you on to NVQ Level 3, subject to satisfactory performance.
What will I be paid?
The rate of pay for an Apprenticeship is £3.30 per hour. Once the Apprenticeship is complete the rate of pay will increase to the current market rate for a Commis Chef.
