We meet Amy and Craig who tell us why it was love at first sight when they saw New Hall Hotel & Spa and knew that they would be celebrating their wedding day there.
Craig picked New Hall and didn’t tell me a thing about the hotel before we came to visit, that way I got a real first impression. From the moment we drove down the drive I knew I would love it. It was seeing the Garden Pavilion that sealed the deal for me because it looked so beautiful inside.
When we got engaged I knew I wanted a venue that looked grand and unlike any other hotel but one that also has plenty of bedrooms for our guests. I wanted that regal feeling that every bride would love to feel and a reception room that would contain my guests without them disappearing to the bar that you usually find outside. New Hall ticked every box! The beautiful grounds made for stunning photos and provided the perfect backdrop for our day.
With it being a winter wedding I was super keen to have lots of foliage and wintery colours such as berry so I tried to pick colours that go beautifully together naturally. I then decided to have blush bridesmaid dresses because they complimented each other perfectly. It was actually an added bonus having such a bright colour for a winter wedding, because many of our guests were in dark colours making my bridesmaids stand out even more. It all turned out wonderfully.
All our suppliers were absolutely incredible and with the exception of the dresses they were all recommendations from New Hall and we were not disappointed.
David Wadley Photographer - David was fantastic. We are in love with every photo. Not only was he so lovely and committed on the day but he went out of his way to help two of our guests that were stuck at the church. He made everything feel effortless and let us enjoy our special moment before whisking us off for photos.
Clare Handzaker Floral Designs - we knew we would love what Clare does because of weddings we saw on her social media and the arrangements she does for New Hall which are always stunning. Our flowers surpassed our expectations and everybody commented on how beautiful they were.
Ben the Cake Man - What can we say about Ben! Oh my goodness our cake was divine!
Midlands Events Company - Susan made our reception room look magical! She worked alongside Clare and really made our tables look like something from a fairytale. We really can’t rate her enough, and her service was fabulous.
Celebration Discos - Steve did a fantastic job, taking time to come and see us during the night and check we were happy with everything. He did everything we asked and made sure our guests were always on their feet.
Sally Thomas Hair - Sally is an old friend of mine and did both my mum and my aunts weddings. Sally is very talented and does everything you request, she was also super patient when I changed my mind last minute! She made me feel so comfortable and at ease which is just what you want in the lead up to the ceremony.
Rebecca Frances Makeup - oh my! Did I look every bit the princess thanks to Rebecca. My makeup lasted all day, and it was still in place the next morning after having slept in it! Sarah Capell also came to help out with the bridal party and both ladies worked together perfectly. Rebecca even got my flowers out of water and dried them before I needed to leave because I forgot! Such a lovely lady!
Dancers Suit Hire had the groomsmen looking sharp!
Debenhams provided the perfect bridesmaids dresses and for affordable prices too.
Issac Charles Bridal House - This store were amazing. Not only did I get my perfect dress, but the team there really went above and beyond to keep my stress at bay. They even fed me chocolate when I passed out at a fitting! Ruth, Nicola and Selina were fantastic and I can’t thank them enough for providing me with the dress of my dreams!
The service from the whole New Hall team and Beth our wedding planner was 100% during the year of planning and on our wedding day. We give them 20/10! The food was insanely good! It was such a pleasure as well to have guests come up to us and tell us how lovely the food was.
What was the best part of your day? Do I have to pick just one part!? Of course all of it was like a dream come true, but I think the moment when we just stopped, to look at everyone having a great time, is up there as a top moment. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves and feeling their love still overwhelms us now! With it being a December wedding, the one thing I said I didn’t want was snow. You can imagine my stress when a blizzard hit the day before. The blanket of snow came down heavy on the Friday, so naturally I was concerned about my wedding on the Saturday. However, I’m able to look back now and see just how much the snow made our day all the more special. We ended up with our own winter wonderland which turned out perfectly!
