Treat yourself to a lie in this National Bed Month with Hand Picked Hotels.

Throughout March it is National Bed Month – organised by The Sleep Council, the campaign aims to remind us all why a good night’s sleep is good for our health and well-being.

When it comes to working towards a better night’s sleep, the best place to start is your bed, especially when you consider a study conducted in 1988 found that by switching from an uncomfortable, old bed to a bed with the the correct support, comfort and space meant an extra 42 minutes of sleep.

We want all of our guests to feel the positive effects of a deep, energising night’s sleep, which is why we only use Hypnos in all of our hotels. The award-winning makers of handcrafted beds have over 100 years of experience, and their pursuit of perfection – using only the finest of natural materials with Royally Approved craftsmanship – is similar to our own philosophy.

As the month to take stock of your sleep, why not spoil yourself and a loved one to our suites or feature rooms. Aptly called the Four Poster bedroom in the East Wing of Crathorne Hall Hotel in Yarm, North Yorkshire, the stunning feature bed is a recent addition and with views over the Leven Valley and beyond, it is the perfect place to unwind.

The Lady Isabella suite at Bailbrook House Hotel near Bath, boasts one of our favourite beds, a wooden sleigh bed sourced from And So to Bed of London. This bedroom also benefits from a separate dressing area, double rain shower and sinks and a white roll-top bathtub, providing everything you need for a relaxing weekend away.

Occupying the original rooms of the 800-year-old New Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham, the Princess Elizabeth Suite provides a real touch of magic. The suite has a separate sitting room but at the heart of the bedroom is a magnificent antique four poster bed. Having once played host to Henry VIII now it is your turn to feel like royalty.

For the ultimate in opulence, then the Queen Anne suite, which is the original master bedroom of our Grade 1 Manor house in Lenham, Kent, boasts a canopied four poster bed – complete with stool due to its impressive height! Together with the ornate cornicing, chandelier and original fireplace, this room in our Chilston Park Hotel provides an awe-inspiring backdrop for a weekend getaway.

With Hand Picked Hotels we can guarantee more than forty winks this National Bed Month!
