The Simonds Room in Hampshire, a 2 AA Rosette restaurant in Basingstoke, perfect for fine dining and simple indulgence.

With its magnificent oak panelling reputed to be from Tewkesbury Abbey, The Simonds Room menu showcases the very best produce from specialist suppliers in Hampshire in elegant surroundings. 

The fine dining restaurant of Audleys Wood provides a sophisticated space for sampling intricately prepared dishes with friendly but professional service. Whether it is to celebrate a special occasion or just for the pleasure of it, here you will find great food and a fantastic wine list.

    To start

    • Cauliflower soup, crispy shallots and cauliflower (v)
    • Confit duck terrine, rhubarb and chili chutney, orange and toasted brioche
    • Stilton brulee, pear, frozen grapes and pecans (v) 
    • Slow cooked pigs cheek, aApple, watercress, crackling 
    • Salmon gravad lax, mousse, beetroot, lemon, fennel

    To follow

    • Fillet of beef, oxtail and apricot beetroot cannelloni, potato fondant, roasted shallots, candied and roasted beetroot
    • King scallops wrapped in lemon sole, pak choi, carrot and leek ribbons, Thai green sauce, filo and sesame seed crisp 
    • Rare roasted rump of lamb, braised belly, minted creamed potato, roasted vegetables 
    • Sweet potato and wild garlic gnocchi, trompettes, broad beans, morel cream sauce
    • Roscoff onion tart tatin, butternut squash, baby rocket and char-grilled halloumi 

    There are vegetables included in each dish but you may wish to order additional side dishes
