We are evolving...

Launched Spring 2019

Acquiring Stanbrook Abbey - our newest addition to the portfolio - we have spent considerable time researching, planning and re-modelling the hotel. The £4.2m renovation programme has been meticulously designed to celebrate the hotel’s heritage whilst making it a more usable space and welcoming environment for our guests. Relocating the restaurant to the ground floor was a top priority, introducing a new brasserie-style experience in The Refectory Dining Room & Terrace, in the site of the original nun’s cafeteria. We have also added new bedrooms and fully upgraded our principal function suite in the main Abbey, St Anne’s. Read more about Stanbrook Abbey’s evolution below…

New Restaurant - The Refectory

Stanbrook's new brasserie-style restaurant, The Refectory, will offer a relaxed yet creative menu of seasonal dishes with a focus on provenance and regional influences. Situated on the ground floor in what was the old Thompson Dining Hall (and the original nun’s refectory) the new restaurant has an informal atmosphere with sumptuous circular booths and comfortable table seating in a contemporary cool design with a sophisticated lighting and sound system. The Refectory features bi-fold doors to the front of the hotel, opening out onto an extensive sun-trap terrace, perfect for alfresco dining as we venture into Spring and Summer!

New Bedrooms

Stanbrook Abbey will soon offer 15 beautiful new bedrooms - launching in two phases - the first of which comprises eight all-new Classic, Executive and Feature rooms on the second floor. The new bedrooms, sympathetically designed to make the most of the building’s historic features, showcase the next generation of bedrooms at Stanbrook Abbey with a fresh neutral palette, warm accent colours and modern furnishings. The second phase will follow with 7 Executive rooms being built in the original schoolhouse in St. Anne’s Wing, taking the total number of bedrooms to 70.

New Conference Suite - St Anne's Hall

St Anne’s Hall has been given a complete makeover to bring it fully up to date for modern conferencing, special events and weddings. The original features that make this room unique, such as the impressive wood panelling, huge high ceilings and beautiful arched windows have been carefully restored and sympathetically upgraded. In addition, new lighting, blinds and air conditioning have been added for year-round comfort. With the Library Bar next door and a covered patio leading out to expansive lawns for reception drinks and dining, St Anne’s is now an all-new premium multi-use event suite, perfect for corporate events and celebrations. Please ask one of our team to show you around when you visit.
