Metafit Bodyweight Training arrives at Rookery



Metafit training is a 30 minute workout combining strength training and high intensity intervals that needs no equipment and very little space...

Metafit is a bodyweight only training system described as “the workout that keeps on working”. 65% of calories are burnt while you’re resting, so to increase this calorie burn you must increase your Resting Metabolic Rate.

Metafit pushes your muscles to fatigue and increases your heart rate so you carry on burning calories for 24 hours after the session, so whether you are sitting at a desk in the office or just watching TV on the sofa, your body is continuing to work out! It is an ideal workout in this fast paced world when you are short of time but want maximum results.

The aim of a metafit session is to work to your maximum in short bursts and do not pace yourself which ultimately burns body fat and boosts metabolism. When you feel the burn you know you will see results, but if it feels easy you are not exercising hard enough!  You work the muscles to the point of maximal fatigue.

Metafit training tries to replicate the ‘fight or flight response and running for your life’ which instinctively makes you recruit every muscle to the point of exhaustion, thus sending post workout recovery into overdrive.

If you want to change your body shape then first change your metabolism with this high intensity workout which is amazing fun with awesome training!

Fitness Move of the Month

Decline Dumbbell Flye


Grasp two dumbbells. Lie supine on a decline bench. Support the dumbbells above the upper abdomen with arms fixed in a slightly bent position. Internally rotate the shoulders so the elbows are to the sides.


Lower the dumbbells to the sides until the chest muscles are stretched with the elbows fixed. Bring the dumbbells together in a hugging motion until the dumbbells are nearly together. Repeat.
