Nominated Charity 2012 - 2013
Rookery Hall are pleased to nominate the Donna Lousie Children's Hospice as our charity of choice for 2012 and 2013. The local hospice cares for 180 life threatened children and their families across South Cheshire and Staffordshire and is a home-from-home, where children and their families can relax and just enjoy spending time together as a family, away from the strain that comes with caring for a very ill child.
Every moment with these children is precious and everything we do centres around making the most of their short lives. Children and their families can come to the hospice for respite and enjoy a range of activities including music, play and art therapy. Hospice care at home is provided by our community team, delivering the same loving care and support in the child’s own home or in hospital. Our counselling service is here for children and families every step of the way, and when the time comes when their child passes away, our bereavement care and support is there for families for as long as they need it.
We are currently caring for 180 children and their families at a cost of £2.4 million a year. As a registered charity, majority of our income must come from voluntary donations and fundraising activities. We can’t do it without the help and support of local businesses and generous individuals. Please help us make every moment count from life threatened children and their families.
