Be Involved

At Hand Picked Hotels, we have developed our Corporate Social Responsibility activities to involve our team members, our local community and our guests.

When staying with us, guests can choose if and how they would like to be involved. This can be anything from indulging with the best of produce from our local suppliers and our gardens, re-energising with a walk in the grounds or local area, to supporting our efforts with recycling and energy management. 

We welcome suggestions or comments on our policy and how we are implementing it and if you have any questions during your stay, then please just ask at Reception. 

Here’s a taste of how you can Be Involved during your stay. Click on the links for articles about our hotel activities.

• Take one of our push bikes for a ride and explore the surrounding areas of stunning natural beauty

• Take a stroll along one of our walking routes, walks cater for those with an hour to spend or a whole day outing

• Sample our delicious honey at breakfast time, produced from bees within the grounds of the house

• Borrow one of our wildlife guide books and a pair of binoculars and go spotting. Don’t forget to record your “spots” in our journal at reception

• Spend some time trying to reach the centre of our Hornbeam Maze in the formal gardens

• Enjoy a treatment in the forest. Throughout the summer months our Spa team offer the opportunity to relax and de stress with a range of treatments carried out overlooking the wooded valley stretching into the heart of the forest.

• Hand Picked Hotels has achieved Carbon Trust Standard,  You can help us use energy resources wisely and turn off lights and heating sources when not needed

• Dine on local produce. Much of the produce used in the creation of our Armada restaurant menu carries the New Forest Marque. This was developed to provide a recognised sign that is easily identifiable and ensures that all produce carrying it is from the New Forest

• Polish up on Iron play or your backhand by taking advantage of the pitching green or tennis courts within the gardens. Racquets and clubs are available from our Spa reception

• Sponsor a fruit tree in our sapling orchard and help create another aspect of sustainability with all the fruits harvested being placed in the public areas of the hotel for all to enjoy.
