Royal British Legion Industries
Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa have committed to providing support to its local RBLI Office (Royal British Legion Industries).
The RBLI was established in 1919 to provide treatment, training and support to service personnel returning from the Great War. Over the years, however, the RBLI have developed and grown into a charitable organisation that does so much more than this. The RBLI is an organisation committed to helping jobseekers back into sustainable employment after long term unemployment. The whole purpose of this new back to work programme is to provide assistance and support to those who are unemployed in the local area, to build their confidence and provide them with the necessary skills to move into sustainable employment.
Our team is assisting the RBLI with presentations & workshops to help improve people's confidence at interviews and to help them secure employment. We are also providing work experience placement opportunities through the RBLI help build upon people's skills and experiences and to help promote the hospitality industry
Support for Local Schools
The Team at Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa are keen to help & support the local schools and students in the area. In 2012 we have 5 local students completing work experience placements at the Hotel & Spa. The aim of these placements is to provide students with an insight into working in the hospitality industry and each student spends a day working in the different departments such as Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, Reception and the Kitchen.
In addition the team are continuing to support local schools & academies with their business projects. This year, the Kitchen team are guiding and judging the students at St Michaels School in Otford on a Team Afternoon Tea Masterchef challenge and also the students of Leigh Technology Academy in Dartford with their Team Apprentice-style business challenge.
If you would like any information on work that Brandshatch Place is doing in this area, please just ask at Reception for information. |
