"A dining sensation" - The Simonds Room restaurant at historic Audleys Wood Hotel, Basingstoke, has been awarded a prestigious two AA Rosettes award.
About The Simonds Room
It has been created at historic Audleys Wood Hotel, Basingstoke, where the star of the menu is the local produce. With its magnificent oak panelling reputed to be from Tewkesbury Abbey, The Simonds Room is set to attract local people and hotel residents with a delicious menu showcasing the very best produce from specialist suppliers from Hampshire and the surrounding areas.
At the opening of The Simonds Room in 2011, a blue plaque was unveiled in recognition of the rich history of Audleys Wood. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Basingstoke and Cllr David Leeks.
The Man behind the Food - Head Chef Adam Fargin
Adam Fargin joined Audleys Wood Hotel in August 2011 to launch The Simonds Room restaurant. Adam is not new to challenges in his career, featuring in many competitions such as a Finalist in BBC's Master Chef the Professionals, Winner of the Jacquard Rising Stars Trophey (now on show in The Simonds Room), Rouission Dessert Competition.
Adam has had the opportunity to work along side some of the great chefs such as; John Campbell, Mark Edwards, Phil Howard, Bret Graham and Michal Caines.
Keen to support local projects, Adam has worked closely with our local school Costello College, developing young minds into the possibilities that this industry has to offer.
Adam is a great supporter of local produce, sourcing all his own local produce and being a big supporter of Hampshire Fayre.
